Roster Mystery questions
How do you play NHL Roster Mystery?
Start with one revealed player, then select the NHL team and season you think the roster belongs to. You have seven guesses to get both right. Each incorrect guess reveals more players, and the complete roster is revealed before your seventh guess.
What do the result symbols mean?
A check mark means that part of your guess is correct; a cross means it is incorrect. Team and season are checked separately. A correct selection stays in place so you can focus on the part you still need to solve.
Which season should I select?
Choose the full NHL season shown in the menu. For example, 2023–24 means the season starting in 2023 and ending in 2024. Think about when the revealed players were teammates, including their trades and career timelines.
What hints are available?
You can reveal a conference, an era and a division clue. Hints remain visible after you use them and do not consume a guess. Conference and division clues use modern alignment, which may differ from the historical season.
Is Roster Mystery free, and can I save my progress?
The daily roster puzzle is free to play. Your progress is saved in this browser when local storage is available, so you can return to the same puzzle. After finishing, copy your result to share a grid of team and season matches without revealing the answer.
