College Football Wordle

What is College Football Wordle?

College Football Wordle is a free daily guessing game for college football fans. Every day there is one mystery player from the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC or Notre Dame to find, and every guess shows how close you are on school, conference, position, class, jersey number, height, weight, home state and recruiting stars.

The answer always has a real role on Saturdays: a starting quarterback, a lead back, a top receiver, a tackling machine. Play it with Guess the College, where you name the schools today's NFL stars played for.

How to play

  1. Type a college football player's name and pick him from the list to make a guess.
  2. Green means the clue matches today's mystery player. Yellow means close: a near number, the same side of the ball, or a home state in the same region. Arrows point toward the answer on class, number, height, weight and stars.
  3. Keep guessing until you find him. After 5 guesses his season stat line unlocks, and after 8 his hometown and transfer path.
  4. Solve it to build your daily streak — a new mystery player arrives every day at midnight Eastern.

Frequently asked questions

Is College Football Wordle free to play?

Yes. The daily College Football Wordle on Sportsdle is free to play in your browser on desktop or mobile, with no download or sign-up required.

Which players can be the answer?

About 1,000 players from the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC and Notre Dame who have a real role: quarterbacks, running backs, receivers, tight ends and defenders with the snaps and the stats to show it. Rosters, stats, recruiting ratings and transfers are refreshed every week.

What do the clues mean?

Conf is the conference: SEC, ACC, B1G (Big Ten), B12 (Big 12) or IND (independent, Notre Dame). Pos is the position group: QB, RB, WR, TE and OL on offense; DL, LB and DB (cornerbacks and safeties) on defense. Class runs from FR (freshman) to SR (senior), with GR for graduate students. Stars is the player's recruiting rating out of high school (2 to 5 stars), and Home is his home state. A position in yellow is on the same side of the ball; a home state in yellow is in the same region of the country.

How many guesses do I get?

Keep guessing until you find the mystery player. His season stat line unlocks after 5 guesses and his hometown and transfer path after 8.

Can I play past puzzles?

Yes. Yesterday's puzzle is free in the archive, and Sportsdle Pro unlocks every past day.
