Line Brawl — NFL card battle game
Collect real NFL cards since 1999, build a six-card lineup under the salary cap, and fight on the field. Beat the daily boss, then challenge your friends.
Shuffling 6,900 player-seasons…
How to play NFL Line Brawl
- Collect real NFL cards. Every card is a real player-season since 1999: Brady 2007, Faulk 2000, Mahomes 2018, J.J. Watt 2012. Your starter pack comes from the team you pick, and a free pack arrives every day.
- Build your six. A quarterback, two skill players, two defenders and a defensive back under a $200M salary cap. Stars cost up to $62.5M, so you cannot have them all. “Best lineup” builds it for you.
- Play turn by turn. One player per side is on the field. Each turn, pick a move: the one with the star is the coach’s pick. Drain the other player’s energy and yours breaks free toward the end zone.
- Touchdown or field goal. Their defensive back is the last line: if he misses, it’s a touchdown (7), if he makes the stop, you still kick a field goal (3). After sixteen turns, most points wins; a tie goes to a two-point shootout.
- Types and the boss. Green STRONG moves hit 50% harder: Pass Rushers beat Air, Air beats Run Stoppers, Run Stoppers beat Runners, Runners beat Pass Rushers. A real team-season is the daily boss, on Easy, Medium and Hard. Send your lineup’s link to a friend: they play against it.
The five card types
- Air: Throws and catches. Beats Run Stoppers, struggles against Pass Rushers.
- Runner: Carries the ball. Beats Pass Rushers, struggles against Run Stoppers.
- Pass Rusher: Sacks. Beats Air players, struggles against Runners.
- Run Stopper: Tackles. Beats Runners, struggles against Air players.
- Last Line: Never fights. Stops (or not) every breakaway to the end zone.
Quarterbacks, receivers and tight ends play in the Air, running backs are Runners (unless they catch more than they run). Linemen and linebackers with the sacks are Pass Rushers, the others Run Stoppers. Every cornerback and safety is a defensive back: the last line.
NFL Line Brawl FAQ
- What is NFL Line Brawl?
- A free NFL card battle game. Every card is a real player-season since 1999, with the stats of that season. You build a lineup of six cards (a quarterback, two skill players, two defenders and a defensive back) under a $200M salary cap and play turn-based games on a pixel football field: one player per side, moves, substitutions, touchdowns and field goals.
- How do I get cards?
- Pick a team and you get a starter pack of nine cards from its history since 1999. After that, a free pack of five cards every day, plus a reward pack the first time you beat each tier of the daily boss and each friend’s lineup.
- How are the cards rated?
- Each season is scored on its production per game (yards, touchdowns, sacks, tackles, interceptions) against the other players at the same position that same year, so a 2004 season is judged against 2004, then ranked across every season since 1999. MVP, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year awards add a little. Salaries follow the rating: about $4M for a depth player, $62.5M for the best seasons ever.
- How does a game work?
- Each turn, you and the computer pick at the same time. Pass Rushers beat Air players, Air beats Run Stoppers, Run Stoppers beat Runners and Runners beat Pass Rushers. When a player runs out of energy, the other side breaks free toward the end zone: if your defensive back misses the tackle it is a touchdown (7), if he makes it they kick a field goal (3). Four quarters of four turns, then a two-point shootout if it is tied.
- Why is Lamar Jackson a Runner?
- Types come from the season’s stats. A quarterback who gains a real share of his yards on the ground plays as a Runner, a back who catches more than he runs plays in the Air, and defenders with the most sacks are Pass Rushers.
- Is NFL Line Brawl free?
- Yes. It runs in your browser on a phone or a computer, and your cards are saved in that browser. Your NFL cards and your NHL cards are two separate collections.
