How to play Guess the College
- Every day at midnight Eastern, 5 current NFL players come out, the same for everyone.
- For each one you see the name, the photo, the position and the NFL team. Type the college he played for and pick it from the list.
- You get 3 tries per player, worth 3, 2, 1 points. Each miss unlocks a hint: where he was born, then another NFL player who went to the same college.
- The players get harder as the day goes: the first comes from one of the biggest NFL pipelines, the last from a smaller one.
- Score out of 15, share your five squares without giving the answers away, then play practice rounds.

Guess the College FAQ
- What is Guess the College?
- A daily college football quiz on Sportsdle: 5 current NFL players a day, and you name the college each one played for. Everyone gets the same 5 players, and a new set comes out at midnight Eastern Time.
- How does scoring work?
- Each player gives you 3 tries: 3 points for the right college on the first try, 2 on the second and 1 on the third, so a perfect day is 15 points. After a miss a hint unlocks: first where the player was born, then another NFL player from the same college.
- Which college has the most NFL players in the game?
- Alabama, with 41 of the 829 current NFL players in Sportsdle’s pool, ahead of Ohio State (32) and Georgia (29). In all, 146 colleges have at least one player in it.
- Which players can come up?
- Current NFL players from the pool behind Sportsdle’s NFL Wordle, the league’s most recognizable names. Kickers, punters and offensive linemen are left out, each day’s 5 players come from 5 different colleges, and the colleges with the most NFL players come first, so the day gets harder as it goes.
- Do small schools count?
- Yes. Most answers are big programs, but FCS and Division II schools come up too: any college with at least two players in the pool can be an answer, so the second hint always has a former teammate to name.
- Can I play more than once a day?
- Yes. After the daily 5, practice rounds deal 5 more players at random, as many times as you like. Practice scores do not count toward your stats or your streak.
- Is it free?
- Yes. No account and no download. Your scores and your streak are saved in your browser.
